Your Camera Club Executive

Glenn Bloodworth to Present on September 6th

The featured speaker at the first meeting of out 2019/2020 season will be Glenn Bloodworth:

A retired senior executive from the federal public service and the private sector, Glenn is a visual artist employing medium-format film & composite digital media. He holds a Diploma in Photographic Arts and Production from the School of the Photographic Arts: Ottawa [SPAO], and a Certificate in Photography Techniques from Algonquin College. Thematically driven by David Thoreau’s observation “It’s not what you look at that matters, it’s what you see” and influenced by Hiroshi Sugimoto’s sense of ‘time exposed’, Walker Evan’s optic, and the aesthetic of the Düsseldorf School artists like Thomas Struth and Candida Höfer, Glenn’s art centers on visuals tonally and metaphysically textured, presenting the over-looked familiar and vernacular, encouraging viewers to comprehension and challenging them to insight, not only of what they are seeing but how they see. Glenn’s works are held in several public and private collections in Canada and abroad, including the City of Ottawa Art Collection.
