One-On-One Training!

In addition to your membership in the Kanata Seniors Centre and Camera Club, you are able to take advantage of the one-on-one training available.

Need help on figuring out your digital camera, how to download images to your computer or network, how to improve them with Photoshop, how to manage your digital assets, including backup and recovery, how to protect your personal data?  All of these and more is available with the Tech Tutors at the Kanata Seniors Centre.

Learn about your computer, tablet, phone or e-reader from these experienced instructors in one-on-one tutoring sessions. Using Kanata Seniors Council computers, or your own laptop or device, they can help you get things going and keep them working right.

These sessions cost $8.00 per hour or you can book three one-hour sessions for $20.00.  If you want to book a session, check in at the Reception Desk at the Kanata Seniors Centre to see what times are available.

For more information you can go to the Seniors Council web site and check out the Technology Help link.

Submit Photos From a Mac

If you’re a Mac user and want to submit photos from iPhoto for a monthly gallery, a challenge, or a shootout, club member Maureen Carrier has documented the procedure she uses:

  • Select your picture in iPhoto
  • From menu bar, select “File”, “Export”
  • Chose “Maximum” quality and “Full Size” and “Use title” then hit “Export”
  • Then you will see: “Save As”. Choose your title which must include your name, e.g., “Roses by Maureen Carrier” if you want your photo to appear on the club website
  • Choose “Desktop” as your location, then “OK”
  • Open Mail and create a message to cameraclub@kanataseniors.ca
  • Choose “Attach “on your email and select your picture from the desktop by highlighting it and “Choose File”

The name will not show up on the email but it’s embedded in the picture and will appear when the recipient opens it

Thanks Maureen
