One-On-One Training!

In addition to your membership in the Kanata Seniors Centre and Camera Club, you are able to take advantage of the one-on-one training available.

Need help on figuring out your digital camera, how to download images to your computer or network, how to improve them with Photoshop, how to manage your digital assets, including backup and recovery, how to protect your personal data?  All of these and more is available with the Tech Tutors at the Kanata Seniors Centre.

Learn about your computer, tablet, phone or e-reader from these experienced instructors in one-on-one tutoring sessions. Using Kanata Seniors Council computers, or your own laptop or device, they can help you get things going and keep them working right.

These sessions cost $8.00 per hour or you can book three one-hour sessions for $20.00.  If you want to book a session, check in at the Reception Desk at the Kanata Seniors Centre to see what times are available.

For more information you can go to the Seniors Council web site and check out the Technology Help link.

RicharD Murphy on Digital Asset Management

RicharD Murphy has provided a copy of the slides from his March 2nd presentation on Digital Asset Management which you can review here.

He also made these recommendations for bulk file renaming programs:

  • Renaming software for PC:
  • Renaming software for Mac:
    • Rename (discontinued – still works great)
    • Mac OS X Yosemite and newer will rename files in bulk via the Finder. Select files to rename, Right Click ( Command Click ) and choose ‘Rename Items’
  • Also, Adobe Bridge will batch rename files on both Mac & PC, and Lightroom can rename files on import.

Thanks again RicharD.
