The Big Picture

About once a week, the photo editors at the Boston Globe put together a collection of brilliant images from around the world that they call The Big Picture.

Sometimes they focus on a single story for example: Perseid meteor shower. Sometimes the images are a collection like this story: 2015 Year in Pictures: Animals. Often they cover news events like: Paris attacks.

Play with your Camera

Come to the Centre Wednesday afternoon January 13th from 1:00 to 3:00 in the Program Room. Bring your camera, its manual, and your tripod (if you have one).

Visit our several “learning stations” where  you’ll be able  to experiment with:

  • aperture priority
  • shutter priority
  • manually fix focus
  • lighting
  • portraits
  • spot metering
  • exposure compensation
  • using a soft box
