Explore Your Camera Workshop

Many camera club members got together on January 13th and had a great time learning more about their cameras.
Under the guidance of Sue Carey, and with the assistance of members of the Camera Club Executive, topics included aperture priority, shutter priority, manual fixed focus, lighting, portraits, spot versus matrix metering, and exposure compensation.
More pictures of participants and some of their results are in this gallery. The handouts are here.
Special thanks to Sue Carey for coming up with the idea for the workshop and for making it happen.

Henry’s Kanata Event: February 14
Alexandra from Henry’s in Kanata passed along this:
we’re running an event here at Henry’s Kanata on February 14th from 9am-noon, and we are extending the invitation to you guys and the Lanark camera club first. The whole event is centered around education, not selling (there wont be a till open, but there may be something offered to attendees that they can take and use at a later date).
The idea is that the store will be divided in to 6 sections (Action Cameras, Nikon, Canon, sigma/tamron/3rd party lenses, mirrorless, and lighting) and there will be little presentations going on in each section. Since not all the attendees will be interested rotating through all the stations to hear all the presentations we are bringing in a bunch of gear to create a “play”/demo section in the middle of the store.
Do you think this is something that your club would be interested in? And would you perhaps be able to connect me with the best person to help us get the word out and confirm who would like to come? (We do unfortunately have limited spot available)
For more details, and/or to register please email Henry’s in Kanata or call them at 613-836-1016.
