If you are interested in the “critters” that Dr. Pete Dang introduced us to at the Pinhey Sand dunes in 2017, his organization — Biodiversity Conservancy International — is hosting a free one day seminar titled:
Insects, An Indispensable Component Of Life On Earth
It takes place on 1-5 PM, Saturday May 4th at the Central Experimental Farm. For more details, refer to the event poster.

If you want to find out what this blog post title is all about you’ll have to come and hear Robin Andrew, the featured speaker at our meeting on May 3rd. She titled her presentation:
Naked Santas and Pillow Fights
My journey from engineer to owner of a photography company
Robin left a career as an electrical engineer to start Unposed photography in 2006. Her unique, fun, high energy approach to photography has resulted in Unposed growing to a team of 8 providing family, commercial and event photography in Ottawa, Toronto, Montreal and even internationally. Unposed was the selected photographers for the 2017 Juno Awards Gala and were also awarded 2017 West Ottawa Small business of the year. She is also currently nominated for 2019 Supplier of the year in the events industry.

This is a call to all KSCCC members to submit short slide
shows or videos of their work for presentation to the KSCCC membership at one
of our monthly meetings.
We are looking for either images, slide shows or videos that you have put
together on a theme that you would like to show to the club members. These presentations should run for between
two and four minutes and can include a sound track with a voice over and / or

is that each slide should be shown for no more than around 7 seconds, excluding
any transitions. If you wish you can
include a picture of yourself at the end of the presentation, so people can
identify who you are.
Please resize your images so that they are a maximum of 1920 pixels wide and 1080 pixels high. Any videos submitted should also adhere to these same maximum dimensions. If you are submitting images, rather than a prepared slide show or video, please the following naming convention to ensure that the images are shown in the correct order:
