The KSCCC is off to a great start for our 2021-2022 season. For our first three virtual meetings, we had inspiring presentations from three amazing professional photographers on topics ranging from landscapes and nature, to street, travel, artistic and visual rhythm photography. Our members submitted unique and interesting photographs for our monthly challenges and are currently participating in our year-long challenge on learning in-camera photographic techniques.
The Kanata Seniors’ Centre has gradually started re-opening after several long months. As a City of Ottawa facility, the Seniors’ Centre must follow COVID-19 guidelines established by the City and Ottawa Public Health for social and recreational indoor activities. We, at the KSCCC, are busy planning our upcoming monthly meetings for December 2021 through June 2022. We have an exciting roster of presentations for our upcoming meetings, with topics ranging from new photographic equipment; how to produce photobooks and set up webpages; and underwater photography. We will also continue with our monthly and special challenges.
In the coming months, we are hopeful that COVID-19 restrictions will continue to ease and we will all feel more comfortable about returning to in-person meetings. At this time, we are tentatively recommending that the KSCCC continue to meet online until March or April 2022. This means that we will continue with virtual monthly meetings for December 2021, January and February 2022. We may be able to convene in-person meetings in March or April 2022, or sooner, if circumstances improve.
Early in the new year, we will be conducting a survey to get your views as to when you would be comfortable in returning to in-person meetings. Your responses to this survey will help to inform the future plans for our club. We will talk more about this survey at our next virtual monthly meeting in December.
