
Manfred Mueller, an award winning, Kanata based photographer will be presenting “Still Life – A Brief Overview” at our meeting on May 6th at 9:15 a.m.
Manfred is a retired professional engineer, but serious photography has been part of his life since he was in his teens. He has studied photography at both Algonquin College and the School of Photographic Arts – Ottawa (SPAO). Manfred has attended workshops and masterclasses in Ottawa, India and Guatemala. He is a photographic educator who teaches specialized shooting and post-processing techniques at Ottawa area photo clubs.
Manfred is the Chairman of the RA Photo Club, the largest photography club in the National Capital Region and a member of the executive of the Kanata Seniors’ Centre Camera Club. He is a member of the Canadian Association of Photographic Art (CAPA) and is a CAPA Certified Judge who sits on juries at local, regional and national photographic competitions.
He is an avid travel photographer and has been to almost 60 different countries, where primarily he shoots landscapes, architecture and people, often in hard to reach, out of the way locations. Closer to home, he does studio based and on-location based portraiture. He is a still-life photographer and has been a fine art print maker for the past decade.
His work has appeared in Canadian Geographic Travel Magazine, the Ottawa Business Journal and the Canadian Camera Magazine. Manfred’s work has also been included in the Canadian entry at the prestigious 2020 Four Nations Competition and he has shown at the SPAO Gallery in Ottawa.
