Topic – Photographic Projects
Have you ever asked yourself any of the following questions?
- How do I become a better photographer?
- How do I develop my own personal photographic style?
- How can I get people to take my work more seriously?
- How do I tell a story with my images?
One excellent way to accomplish these goals is by creating your own photo projects.
Rather than looking at just individual images, start thinking about how to plan, shoot and arrange a series of related images in a way that tells a story.
Manfred’s presentation will draw on his personal experience in developing photographic projects. He will demonstrate approaches that will help you create and share your own projects.
Bio – Manfred Mueller, ACAPA
KSCCC member Manfred Mueller is an award-winning, Ottawa-based photographer and print maker.
Serious photography has been part of his life since he was in his teens. After high school, he studied mechanical engineering at Queen’s University and after graduating he worked as a Professional Engineer throughout his career. Manfred has studied photography at both Algonquin College and the School of the Photographic Arts – Ottawa (SPAO), he earned a college diploma in Photographic Arts and Production from SPAO in 2024.
Manfred is an avid travel photographer and has travelled in well over 60 countries and has attended workshops and master classes in Ottawa, Guatemala and India. When at home, he enjoys still life photography in his studio. His work has appeared in Canadian Geographic Travel Magazine, the Ottawa Business Journal, Canadian Camera Magazine and PhotoED Magazine. His prints are held in private and corporate collections across North America and can often be viewed in galleries in the Ottawa area.
Manfred is the Director of Education at the Canadian Association for Photographic Art (CAPA). He has been a CAPA certified judge since 2019 and has judged competitions at the local, national and international levels. Manfred was named as an Associate Fellow (ACAPA) in 2024.
