Old hats, new hats, large hats, small hats, baseball caps and all of it.  If it covers your head (but is not a scarf nor a wig), it is a hat.  Focus on manufactured objects that cover our heads, either partially or completely, with an emphasis on shape and texture.

Structure is everywhere – skeletal structure, organization structure – manmade or natural.  It supports us and sometimes frustrates us.  It provides a framework we can operate under.  If your image contains “structure” – natural or manmade, it can be included.

Your Monthly Challenge images and Selfie Challenge images must be emailed to contact@ksccc.ca by noon on Friday, May 29th to be included in the meeting. Indicate clearly in your email that your images are for the Monthly Challenge or Selfie Challenge. You may send up to three images for the Monthly Challenge, and three images for the Selfie Challenge and you may nominate one image from either for the Photo Review. For this month, you can also bring prints to show (up to 10, any size) that you can stand up either with an easel/stand that you bring. Please come 15 minutes early to get them set up. Also bring a name card to put in front so people know who took the pictures – it can be as simple as a folded piece of cardboard with your name written on it.

Photograph items to emphasize the abstract without revealing the actual subject (e.g. colours of a bird’s wing, abstract shapes in rocks, designs in wood, flower petals).

During the presentation Debbie talked about the wild horse support group HAWS (Help Alberta Wildies Society). For more information you can go to there website here, or their Facebook page here. Did you know that most of the wild horses have been named, and there are quite a few famous ones.

For the June monthly meeting we are going to have tables set up around the room so people can bring prints to show (up to 10, any size). If you are bringing prints, please come 15 minutes early to get them set up. If possible bring prints that you can stand up either with an easel/stand (see example below) or in a frame.

Also bring a name card to put in front so people know who took the pictures – it can be as simple as a folded piece of cardboard with your name written on it. We want people to be able to walk by and enjoy the prints during the coffee break.
