June Meeting

Our June meeting is our Member’s Day and it is dedicated to you, our members. For this meeting we will have Ask a Question and be presenting Member Slideshows. We are all looking forward to seeing your photographs and videos, and to your continued active participation in the activities of our club.

Ask a Question

We are going to attempt something a little different for part of our June meeting. It’s your turn to “Ask a Question”. Perhaps you have a question such as “What is an f/stop and why should I care?”, “What is dodge and burn and how to I use it?”, “How do I photograph the milky way?”, “Where is the best place to photograph orchids?”, “How can I help make our club even better?”

Ramin Izadpanah Presenting in May

Ramin Izadpanah will be giving an inspiring presentation entitled “Confessions of a Photographer”, chronicling his personal journey as a photographer.

Ramin is a well known, accomplished photographer, having spent many years perfecting his personal style in several photographic genres. His accomplishments include local and national publications, Canadian Geographic Awards, judging photographic submission for the City of Ottawa Art Gallery, as well as judging for local photography clubs.

Help Required for Member Meetings

Do you think you could be a featured presenter at one of our camera club meetings? Do you know anyone who might like to volunteer to present at one of our meetings?

At this time every year, the Executive of the Kanata Seniors’ Centre Camera Club looks for presenters for Member Meetings for the following year. It gets more difficult each year to find speakers who wish to volunteer their time to speak to our camera club. As we try to put together a series of interesting and educational club meetings, we are always on the lookout for new materials and presenters.

If you know of someone, or if you would do a presentation yourself, please forward an email to contact@ksccc.ca with details.

Stephen J. Stephen Presenting in April

Meting date was corrected from April 2 to April 9.

Stephen J. Stephen will be presenting “The Wildlife of Ottawa”, an overview of the wonderful and varied natural subjects that can be found in the greater capital region at our meeting on April 9th at 9:15 a.m.

Stephen graduated with a B.Sc from the University of New Brunswick and, after working for a couple of years, obtained his M.Sc. from Memorial University of Newfoundland.

Stephen had been doing 35mm film photography for many years when he moved to digital photography in 2005. He has since focussed his photographic efforts on wildlife with birds being his main subjects. His knowledge of his subjects allows him to capture and share some of nature’s beauty and behaviour through his images.
